Sunday evenings are quiet and he pretty much gives me free rein with my repertoire. It's why I particularly enjoy it - I can get away with some nice ballads when things are slow. My middle name is Frances, which I can't stand - so that's not really an option. Maybe I'll have to find husband number three for a name change ???? |

We live about 3 hours away, or Pat would have had us back in March. I plan to be in the area for the Alexandria Scottish games in July (26th). However, you're more than welcome to make a "guest appearance" on stage and lead a couple! The fun thing about the pub is that it's very near a hotel where a lot of tourists/visiting officials/business people stay and you never know who'll walk in. Last time I was there we had about 15 Russian doctors - a group of whom got up on stage and shared some lovely Russian songs with us. Really looking forward to meeting some Mudcatters. |

For all who aren't familiar with Pat Troy's, it's a nice change from the likes of Murphy's up the street, where the drunken Marines just LOVE the Unicorn (and all that other "faux-Irish" crap). Pat's new chef makes a helluva prattie soup and the fish 'n chips are right tasty, too. Can't say much for the house chardonnay, though (it's actually called Fat Bastard). |

Sunday night is usually a nice bunch - very appreciative. There are always plenty of seats and yes, the food there is great and reasonably priced. |

I'm with Seamus! I love the expected songs, but sometimes it's better to get them over and done with before the crowd gets ugly... (Most of 'em started out pretty unsightly to begin with) ;-) At Flanagan's in Bethesda they get downright belligerent if they don't get And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda in the first set.
June 23rd or 30th sounds good to me! I'll even try to pry SweeteeFace loose and bring her along, but that depends on how smoky it gets... |
