Like Maryrrf, I'll be singing in D.C. soon with my gospel Quartet, the Gospel Messengers. We'll be singing on June 15th for FSGW. As a still wet behind the ears 'Catter, I'm trying to keep names straight. Once I figure out the names of Mudcatters and get their e-mail address, I discover that they often have two Nom De Plooms... their Mudcat name and their e-mail name. I just don't want to get back home after we sing and hit myself on the forehead and say to myself... "That was Chance!, not Fortunato or Rockbilly!" Actually, I'll get Chance right, but I know that there are many Mudcatters in the D.C. area, only some of whom I know by their actual names. If we cross paths on the 14th or 15th, please come over and say hello and tell me who you are on Mudcat.

I'm not REALLY asking that Mudcatters wear name tags..:-)

Should be easy, my friend. If they have been to the Getaway weekend, they will have name buttons. Just ask them to wear them. Most of the DC area catters have been.

Hi, Mick : Sorry you're so far away. I guess what I was trying to say is that if someone comes up with a name tag on, I'll know their name, but not what their Mudcat name is. When I finally attach a real name to a Mudcat name, I say to myself, "Aha!! so that's who LaMarca is!" Or Bobert, or Cflat or the others I've come to know. I find that I get to know people as Cflat, and Then get to know their real names....

The Mudcat name badges are helping to solve this problem. It makes life a lot easier - though mainly UK Mudcatters have got them.

And here I didn't even know they existed... :-)

Wow...I'd love to come see you! Are you singing both the 14th and the 15th?

As for name tags, I am unfortunately poor in that area. The 'Cat gathering for this area occurs during one of our longest running (9 weeks) and most intensive gigs, so I gots no time then.

I'll see if I can't find one of those "Hello, my name is" tags instead. ;D

Hi, Celtic:

Nope, we're only singing on the 15th of June. I'll be coming down on my own to do a guest set for Chance/Fortunato/Rockbilly of September 14, and a house concert for him/them on September 15th, though. It would be good to meet you...
