Would like more information about song writer Ray Hearne (compositions include "Our Elaine" and "January Snows"). Does he also perform and if so how can I get hold of some of his recordings and/or material?

Ray Hearne apart from being the hairiest man I know , lives in the Wath upon Dearne area (between Rotherham and Barnsley) his last album Broad Street (I think) is fab and is on the No Masters lable. It has such gems as Rother Sing a Don Song , Calling Joe Hill etc. He's on at Wombwell in September

Hi everyone
I love Ray Hearne too, as a singer as well as my extremely hairy father. Thanks for posting Katie, we'll buy vests next weekend, yes?!
I'm really proud of him and love (most of) his songs, except when he practises them in our dining room, conservatory, study etc, etc, etc at all hours of the day and night!
Keep rockin' Ray!!
Love Rebecca xxxxxxx

You can contact Ray easily enough via the NoMasters record label www.nomasters.co.uk. I'm sure he would be only too glad to supply you with the words to any of his songs!

Sometimes a carefully fair and balanced appraisal of a significant political character just doesn't fully express the depth of our feelings for that individual: Ray wrote a "tribute" to John Selwyn Gummer which is (happily) forever embossed in my memory!

Check out his less well known works. Cheers, R.

He's a good lad is that Ray. Great singer/songwriter and a fantastic poet. My missus used to work with him but haven't seen him in a while. Still play his CDs a lot, though.

I had a chuckle at Rebecca's posting that highlights the distressing lack of respect that daughters have for us poor fathers.
I just hope that Ray tells her:
"I'll thank you not to shut me up
Cos I've got things to say!"
