I'm gigging at the Deventer Stilt festival aat beginning of July and want to spend a couple of nights in the Dam before and after. If there are some music sessions etc I'll take an instrument with me . Cheers Martin

Ahhhh - but it's only easy peasy if you're a clever edumacated girly like you Noreen. It's a lot tougher for thick blokes like me n' Eric;-)

See you soon all being well

Cheers

PS - I looked at the thread coz Spot's off to Amsterdam soon and I thought he would be interested.

Fair amount of good Irish music - but is there anywhere in Amsterdam where's there's other types of good folk music, such as Dutch?

according to my friends in Holland, very few Netherlanders want to go and hear Dutch tradditional music. Maybe Letty can help out on this.

"Very few Netherlanders want to go and hear Dutch traditional music" - that's the impression I've got. The same way very few English people want to go and hear English traditional music. (And that's what I call being fick!)

If you've heard any Dutch Folk music you'll understand why. Thanks for the link Eric. Martin

That's the kind of thing people say about English folk music, Martin; and indeed about folk music in general. Enough of the time they are wrong to make it worth while searching for the stuff that disproves them..
