Any other mudcatters going to be there? (If you click on the festival link above, then click on 2001 pics you will see several pics of the Shellbacks at last years' festival- is that Derek Seed with the barrell, next to Johnny Collins??) 14 Jun 02 - 05:19 AM (#729770) Subject: RE: Mersey ShantyFest 14-16 June 2002 From: Matthew Edwards Well at least I've managed to organise my work schedule so I can get to some of the events over the weekend, but not to the session at the Baltic Fleet tonight. I'm looking forward to hearing the Shellback Chorus again. Some of the pictures on the ShantyFest site feature Jim Peden who I was sorry to learn died suddenly a few weeks ago. He was the organiser of the Flying Picket folk club (formerly at the Baltic Fleet), and a Shellback member as well I think, and will be much missed on the folk scene in Liverpool. |

Hope all the Shellbacks have a brill weekend! Are any Shellbacks or Mudcatters going to Whitby next weekend? The Endeavour tall ship is in, so the landlords at the Endeavour pub are putting on a mini-festival over the weekend. We're stayiong at the pub, so I suppose that will be more Guiness and Jamiesons flowing!! Ali |

He taught me 'Strike the Bell'. If anyone sees his wife please pass on my sympathies. Another good man gone too soon. |
