Mudcatter Recent MP3.com recruit

I've recently begun to post stuff to mp3.com.

At the time of writing there are two tracks available, a jig set (Out On The Ocean/The Blackthorn Stick) and set of reels (The Magic Mushroom/The Maid Behind The Bar/The Wind That Shakes The Barley).

Lots more to follow, including original songs in a more contemporary vein.

The address is www.mp3.com/Aidan_Crossey.

Honest it was not an attempt at telepathy. I just listened to your MPĀ£'s (very enjoyable) and that led me to your web site. Which led me to your bulletin board. Where I came across the heartrending saga of love and puke. Please ensure that this soap runs and runs, it is enormously entertaining.

Dave ...

I can't vouch for Messrs Buckwheat and Kane and their various acolytes, concubines and comrades in arms. Their lifestyles are - to say the least - a little erratic and consequently they're hardly what you would call regular correspondents.

I would guess, though, that the current truce is at best temporary and so I'd keep an eye out for a flare-up in hostilities.

Just to save Aidan refreshing again. I'm sitting at work (on my lunchbreak) playing a few tunes from his Tunebook(Vol1) on my mandolin. It's a lovely wee collection with some fine selfpenned work in it as well as some good trad stuff. If you don't have it get it. Unfortunetly for all you poor people out there withh what can only be described as asthetically less pleasing instruments it's all in Mando Tab. Maybe he's got an ABC up his sleive, I don't know but if not lets request one.

Thanks, Dave!

I do have a file of my original compositions in abc format.

Go to Aidan Crossey's Original Tunes and follow the lik to the abc collection.

The trad tunes in my tunebook are generally available on the web in abc and sheet music format.

Glad the effort was appreciated.

Volume Two is in preparation!

Damn it all ... those characters who've taken over my bulletin board will be the death of me! And me such a mild-mannered and well-spoken sort of a bein'! It's the cyber-equivalent of a wasp's nest in your roof.

Oh, but just think of all the traffic...clicking on your music, too! Just finished reading the whole of them to Rog who has no arse left having laughed it off completely. Now I am off to play yer tape, again...can't get your songs outta my head...and I have to listen to that wild "kay-lee" song, again!**BG** I think YOU, Aidan, are Ireland's best-kept secret!

Dear Rog ...

Get well soon, a chara!

It's such a shame ... so many arses in the world and you have to go and lose yours through an overactive sense of humour!

I'd lend you mine, but I laughed it off at the "Tunnel Of Goats" episode in Father Ted!

Not to worry, Aidan, I've got his arse in hand, so to speak, after finding it in a small ditch while picking aspargas for his supper. He's all trussed up now and ready for more of the Buckwheat-Kane sopera (like m'new word? Short for soap opera!)

If you're interested, mp3.com has just approved a whole slew of stuff for listening, downloading, etc. I'm particularly pleased with the tune "Madame Bonaparte".

Any comments on anything, let me know!

They'll keep comin' alright ...

I never knew Jimmy Creaney ... but his songs live on and seems to me he was a hard man to better! Hence the tributes - the jig on MP3.com and the song on Pay The Reckoning.
