If you've seen the film Good Will Hunting, the last scene where Matt Damon drives off has a sound track which is great; it's a version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" on ukulele and this really beautiful voice. Some guy I've heard is big with the Uke crowd, I hear. Anyhoo, I'm wondering if anyone out there has worked it out on guitar. There's such a nice sounding progression there that fits the lyric so well. Anyone?? SB

Yeah, that's not bad; the chords are handy. Thanks. But if you listen to the version I'm talking about, there are these really beautiful chord voicings, which I imagine could be played way up the neck to get a bit of that uke feel. I'm just too busy/lazy to figure it out for myself I guess, but I figure, hey if some 'catter out there's done the work, why not ask? So keep em coming. SB

The chords are a bit off, as are some of the melody notes in the tab--Some of us wish you'd check the stuff you post, Sorcha--this isn't the first time--

But the tab isn't right, even for the regular version of the song--but you are a right, they could do a search on their own--the singer was Israel Kamaka wiwo ole(Iz) and there is plenty about him, both on the web and in Mudcat(try the seach engine at the top of the page on the left)--

I play it in Am (C formation, no capo).
The G+ is what makes the song - I learned it from an old Cliff Edwards (Ukulele Ike) songbook. You could get fancier, but I play it like this:

BTW, those A and D strings should be played, not open.
