15 Jun 02 - 10:23 AM (#730481) Subject: Everybody's gonna get religion and glory From: Cappuccino My memory for 50s/60s songs is usually pretty good, but this one's got past me. It went something like: 'Everyone's gonna get religion and glory, everybody's gonna be singing that story, everyone's gonna have a wonderful time up there'. Were there any more words? Thanks - Ian B

15 Jun 02 - 11:03 AM (#730503) Subject: Lyr Add: A WONDERFUL TIME UP THERE From: wysiwyg That would be the southern gospel piece, "EVERYBODY'S (or "everyone's") GONNA HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME UP THERE," AKA "Gospel Boogie." The Homeland Harmony Quartet's version can be heard at DOVESONG. (I have lyric files now for a lot of what is downloadable from DoveSong. I think this one came from Cowpie but I have no idea now.) ~S~ ======================================

15 Jun 02 - 11:48 AM (#730528) Subject: Lyr Add: A WONDERFUL TIME UP THERE (from Pat Boone From: masato sakurai "A Wonderful Time Up There" (this seems to be the original title) was written by Lee Roy Abernathy in 1947. Score is also in Gospel's Greatest (Hal Leonard, p. 286). The Pat Boone version is:
A WONDERFUL TIME UP THERE
Well, now, everybody's gonna have religion and glory
Now listen, everybody 'cause I'm talkin' to you
Well-a, well-a, well-a
Now ya get your Holy Bible in the back of the book
Well-a, well-a, well-a
Well-a, well-a, well-a ~Masato |
