17 Jun 02 - 04:40 PM (#731650) Subject: Wirething.com thread From: Clinton Hammond There was a thread not too long ago about a guitar pick from wirething.com... Who ever started it gave the inspired title of something like "What do you think of these" Makes it VERY hard to find... especially with this apparent 64K max search size... (What the hell???)) Anybody better at digging and roothing than I am??? Hit me here with a url for the thread please.. or PM it to me... Ta very much! ;-)

17 Jun 02 - 04:58 PM (#731668) Subject: RE: Help: Wirething.com thread From: Joe Offer Clinton, try clicking on the name Clinton Hammond in the "from" line of any message you've posted, and every message you've ever posted will turn up. You could also search by thread title by putting "pick" in the filter and setting the age back, or you could use the Forum Search and search by message title or user name. Digitrad and Forum search is our easiest search engine to use, but it hasn't been indexed in a while and won't turn up results from threads newer than about 9 months old. The other methods work very well, and don't require indexing. That's a long-winded attempt to politely say "You're completely pathetic CH...... " [grin] -Joe Offer- So, where'd you get a message that says there's a 64 k search size? |

17 Jun 02 - 05:07 PM (#731675) Subject: RE: Help: Wirething.com thread From: Clinton Hammond I did try the "ever post I've made" thing... (as a matter of fact, that's one of my bookmarks, it's such a useful way of searching) but the vague memory of the thread title made it nearly impossible to find... I put 'picks' in the search box (and a couple of other options) and that's where I got the 64K error message... Hang on... I'll see if I can make it happen again.... yup... and I quote Error Occurred While Processing Request Error Diagnostic Information Error occurred in tag CFSEARCH Criteria is not specific enough. Result set exceeded maximum size (64K). The error occurred while processing an element with a general identifier of (CFSEARCH), occupying document position (73:1) to (73:82) in the template file D:\webserver\@Newssresults.cfm. 17 Jun 02 - 06:37 PM (#731736) Subject: RE: Help: Wirething.com thread From: Joe Offer Ah, now I understand, Clinton. "Picks" is a very common word on music sites, and it brought up results that took up too much bandwidth. That set off a limiter that gave you the error message. These picks would have given you some interesting results (try it - there's good stuff there), but wouldn't have picked up the recent wirething thread because the thread was posted after the last search indexing was performed. Hope you don't mind us giving you a hard time, but the temptation to harass you was just too great... -Joe Offer- |
