Dr. Moshe Gottleib of Bar Ilan University was one of 19 Israelis murdered by a Palestinian suicide bomber on Tuesday.

Dr. Gottleib was one of the world's leading authorities on working with disabled children.

He was 70 years old.

I was waiting for somebody to know somebody. Blast, as they say in dismay in some places!

But - as the survivor of someone killed by terrorists - I would reserve the term Murder for a personal assassination of somebody known to the killer. I never considered my Dad to have been murdered, but killed, yes.

What then does one who dies at the hands of others---and who is not a combatant---or allied with a combatant die of if not "murder"? It sure is not innocent old age. It is also not a motor vehicle or sports accident.

Semantics. Let us call it what it is---Murder. Pure and simple---just as the 2,000 some odd poor souls here in the U S at the WTC, Pentagon, and planes. Mass Murder.

I think it's important to put real names and faces on the victims of terrorism. Thank you, YMF.

Rest in peace, Dr. Gottlieb. May his memory be eternal.

The whole sad situation needs our attention and prayers. I agree with Mousethief. I always wonder, what can one confused, saddened American do?

Mrzzy,

I do not understand how a terrorist killing innocent civilians would not be "murdrer." Of course it is murder.
