I'm new to Mud Cat so I'm not sure quite how this works yet, but I wanted to say how much I enjoyed Alcester this year, and to ask if anyone was at the Sunday night concert (last weekend) and heard The Wilsons (I think that's who they were - five men singing beautiful harmonies?). I want to know what their last song was called, and if anyone knows where it comes from and/or what it's about? It's been haunting me ever since! Cheers!! (-: p.s. the chorus went something like 'shut the coal house door boys, there's bones/blood/bairns inside' Brrr..

You never signed the Mudcat sheet - or have you literally just joined? If so welcome to the 'Cat. I first heard the song as part of a very moving theatrical production about mining in the 70's at Leeds Playhouse. I'd love the chance to see it again. |
