The great Rosemary Clooney, singer, actress and aunt of the actor George Clooney has died of cancer at the age of 74. She was so, so popular in the 1950s with such belting numbers as "Come on-a My House", "Tenderly", "This Ole House" and "Hey There" among others. One of her most popular roles was as Betty in the 1954 film "White Christmas" in which she starred with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. Sadly her career took a down turn in the 1960s. She was married to Jose Ferrer from 1953 to 1967. Later she appeared in the hsopital drama "St Elsewhere." So sadly missed. Rosemary - the song may be ended, but the melody lingers on. |

How well I remember that viewing "White Christmas" on television was part of our annual holiday tradition!
