Lyr Add: There Ain't No Ash Will Burn (W Aldridge)

I have looked absolutely everywhere on the web for these lyrics and come up empty. Laura Love did this song, and it is by Walt Aldridge. It was also done by the Maudlin Brothers, as well as by Ranch Romance on Western Dream. I have a copy of the LL album, but cannot understand some of the words. I would be extremely grateful to have the rest of them.

What I have is:

I have seen snow that...(?)
And I have seen rain on cloudless days
Some things are always bound to change
There ain't no ash will burn

CHORUS: Love is a precious thing, I'm told
Burns just like West Virginia coal
But when the fire dies down, it's cold
There ain't no ash will burn

You say this life is not your lot
And I can't be something that I'm not
We can't stoke a fire that...(?)
There ain't no ash will burn. CHORUS

In every life there comes a time
When there are no more tears to cry
We must leave something dear behind
There ain't no ash will burn. CHORUS

And there is one lesson I have learned
There ain't no ash will burn

Please email me if you have the missing lyrics or corrections to what I've written here.

Thanks,
C.

clw,

While we're waiting for words, can you post the tune in ABC or do-re-mi? I don't have MIDI stuff.

Singing & dancing,
CH.

Vulcan's Britches from Birmingham, Alabama, did a nice cover of it, too. I don't think the band exists any more but their CD is still available online (it's called "No Ash Will Burn", actually).
