Refresh - plug, plug, plug ...

Your humble servant will be assisting, and can be seen at the Town Hall for the Ozric Tentacles gig, and the Globe for Kyla Brox and bAd DoG.

The Globe has just had narrow sqeak with PEL, by the way, but let's not open the floodgates now.

All the best.

It's back again. Aaaaargh !

A much more modest affair this year; the organisers can get Arts Council / Local Authority grants for every other year only. The Nick Harper spot may appeal to 'Catters.

Full details are at The Lift Global Music Club

Back again. A very mixed line-up this year. Pride of place is Desmond Dekker and the Aces (they released the UK's first reggae No. 1 hit, "The Israelites", in 1969).

Tickets for Desmond's slot have sold out. However, 'Catters may be interested in Martin Simpson, Rosie Doonan and Ben Murray, and Marie Little, all performing at the Town Hall on Sunday afternoon.

Finished late Sunday. In my case, the festival consisted of three day's heaving assorted sound and lighting gear around and spending a night standing outside the doors to the Town Hall acting as door staff. All volunteers (and local bands Fayze2 and bAd DoG) gave their services free.

All acts were well received and performed brilliantly. However, after seeing Martin Simpson's performance on the guitar, I and several other guitarists resolved to go home and slam our hands in the door. No way can we ever aspire to play as well as Martin.
