I just returned from Ireland to Germany and I still have a song in my ear that an irish guy sang one evening. The only thing I know is the name of the song: The wind in the willow (or willows?). Any good music shop should be able to help, or try a church or cathedral bookshop, especially if that church has a large choir. I'm sorry I don't have access to mine at the moment or I'd give you a ISBN to use. I do know it's in one collection of folk songs, if I could remember the author (brain says Cyril Tawney, but don't quote me on that) you could try a search for an anthology of theirs. Good luck. We're travelling to Glaston through England's green lanes, To hear of men's troubles, to hear of men's pains. We'll travel the whole world by land and by sea, To show all the people how they can be free. The song is based on the legend that the young Christ travelled to Glastonbury with his uncle and this extra verse (by Alan Bell) helps to establish the fact. |
