13 Jul 02 - 06:55 PM (#747788) Subject: Need some mojo - NOHAUL saga continues! From: katlaughing Some of you might remember the trouble we had with Well, our daughter in WY took a week's vacation, starting today, we rented another truck from them, with a supposed $100 off, which coupons didn't make it there in time, she loaded it up, with help, yesterday and headed out today, after getting off work at noon. Two hours out from our old home in Casper, the truck started acting weird. She was two miles out of the closest town, thank goodness, and used her cellphone to call their service number. About an hour and a half later, while she sat by the side of the road in high 90 degree weather, the mechanics showed up, towed it back to town. Told her it needs a new fuel pump and there are none to be had in town. It has to come from Denver and will be there SOMETIME tomorrow. Tomorrow is the poor kid's 25th birthday!! This will be one she will never forget! I had already decided to file a complaint with the CO sec. of state's office, now I think I will also have to take them to small claims court. Because of their original breach of contract, we've had to pay three extra month's storage, plus pay for movers to load, and the truck, etc. with the addition of a motel room now. All told, what should have cost us just under $300 is now already over $600. Anyhow, I just needed to rant about it a bit. I wrangled on the phone with them all last week and kept getting the runaround. Come Monday morning they are not going to be happy to hear from me. Daughter is fine, she's young enough to take it in stride and have some fun. But I sure would appreciate you all cooking up some mojo vibes to get the thing taken care of early in the morning tomorrow, so she and our stuff can get here, safely, and before Rog has to go back to work on Monday! Thanks a bunch and remember don't go with NOHaul!!kat |

From: GUEST,.gargoyle I sing the praises of U-Haul ...........and have been in tune with their trucks................ on many occasions........... both on the highways...... and on the byways of...... America. A good corporation with a good service. Perhaps, it is bad karma kit-kat? Life hasn't been easy on you in Wyoming or in Colorado.
BTW - have you planted the garden you so dearly wanted last winter? I hope so - you were awful depressed back then.
Sincerely, |

When I was moving to Maine I put new lightbulbs in the dining room chandelier...just to be nice to the incoming buyer. $300 later, it had been rewired and the dimmer switch replaced. You have my sympathy, kat. Have a special birthday waiting for your daughter. I know you know how to laugh at crap like this. Mary |

14 Jul 02 - 02:07 PM (#747867) Subject: RE: BS: Need some mojo - NOHAUL saga continues! From: katlaughing The fuel pump has arrived and they are putting it in as I type!! She should be here sometime this evening!! Thanks for the mojo!! Ah, Sins, thanks, but it's not every time, at least not with most things.:-) I have to tell myself to have patience and to know that there's some kind of protection going on which may have kept her from something worse. As it is, we are fortunate she is a good driver. It quit while she was going 60mph on a two lane highway notorious for fatal accidents. She lost all steering, brakes, the works and managed to bring it to a stop without losing control, for which I am very grateful. Garg, I know I was depressed, but I don't think any of this has to do with bad karma...I think it's just a balancing; if I didn't have a bit of a sticky wicket now and then, I wouldn't know how good it is. No, I haven't planted that garden, yet, there's too much of a drought on, some cities in CO have banned all new landscaping, and in this yard we are starting from scratch. We've been concentrating on doing things to the inside, this year. I did have roses, though and they are beautiful. Colorado has been good to us, very good. And, even old Wyoming had its good points, esp. its natural beauty. Clinton, was that 'cause you've never rented from them or your sh** doesn't stink?!*bseg* |

15 Jul 02 - 12:03 AM (#748109) Subject: RE: BS: Need some mojo - NOHAUL saga continues! From: GUEST,.gargoyle Look Kat – I am NOT trying to be contentious about EVERYTHING… you do…
In this case it is contentious about something… you SHOULD do!
Plant the GARDEN! – It is good for the heart and good for the soul….not to mention the local ENVIRONMENT! (Your little scratch-patch is more efficient than all of those commercial growers who irrigate by flooding their fields) ((Not to mention recycling MANURE which is just shit without a garden))
Up here in Colorado, you still have time to plant, harvest and can – tomatoes (from store pots because its so late) , the rest from SEED…. string-beans….and grow carrots, squash (crook-neck and zucchini) lettuce (ALL TYPES)- radishes (every two weeks) and of course the cool weather healthys – broccoli and cauliflower, toss out a packet of cucumbers (but, they might be bitter) Next year, get in the low maintenance/high yield/high respect watermelon and cantaloupe.
The BEST thing about gardening is sharing with the neighbors. Gardeners and dog-people are all friendly folk.
Please PLANT and enjoy the fall harvest with your new friends.
Most of all PLAY HARD, HAVE FUN, BE SAFE This IS God's Country and HE has heaped a bountiful load of goodness on it!!!
Sincerely,
