16 Jul 02 - 07:37 PM (#749319) Subject: Are there any Yellow Mudcatters From: GUEST I've been playing trad music in the UK sessions for 20 years, and in all that time I've never seen a single Chinese person playing. What gives? |

16 Jul 02 - 07:53 PM (#749330) Subject: RE: BS: Are there any Yellow Mudcatters From: InOBU What gives is Asian people are not yellow, and I have played with Asian musicians in the Irish tradition in New York from several Asian countries including China... maybe it is a UK thing???? Larry |

16 Jul 02 - 07:54 PM (#749331) Subject: RE: BS: Are there any Yellow Mudcatters From: Dicho (Frank Staplin) In a hamlet in northern Alberta (Canada) where we were doing field work, the only restaurant was Chinese. The cook was fluent in both Chinese and English, and he used to belt out American cowboy-country songs in Chinese while he was cooking (perhaps just as well we couldn't understand him). This also was the only entertainment in town. The Chinese have a large and varied repertoire of "trad" music, equal to or larger than that of western Europe and those offshore isles. We don't sing their songs and they don't sing ours. I don't find this surprising. |

Ummmm..."teal Mudcatters"? Nope. Could offend waterfowl. Chartreuse Mudcatters? There we go! Offends no one. ARE THERE ANY CHARTREUSE MUDCATTERS? The World needs to know! - LH |

In answer to your question, LH there is a breed of cat called the Chartreuse, originating as the name might indicate in France. If such a cat might get a little dirty, you would indeed have...............
a Chartreuse Mudcat!
