From: Hazy_Jane This is an urgent plea to anyone who may, by some strange fluke of nature, have tickets to the Cambridge Folk Festival this summer going spare! Please! Or, if you know of anyone who, for some strange reason, does not want their's anymore... for the love of music LET ME KNOW!!!! Two tickets would be ideal, but I'm way past the fussy stage. If you go along you'll very likely find someone trying to sell an unwanted ticket anyway. Camping on the main site is likely to be more of a problem, but the other site should have room. |

I knew someone who went last year and they said they had a very good time. Besides, I really want to see "The Oyster Band" and "Atlan", and I managed to find someone to go with me this year... most of my sadly misguided pals would (quote) "rather eat nails than listen to that kind of music". I DO NOT share their oppinion. Anyway, I'm knew to the folk-like scene, and this was the only festival I knew about, but if there are others in England, dooooo let me know! |

If you can get a ticket, Cambridge can be a great weekend. Even for people who aren't that into folk music. (In fact it's when people are really into folk music they tend to put Cambridge down. I don't agree, because it's a different type of festival, and has its own good qualities.)

We're lucky because we get to take the badge stall to a lot. My favourites tend to be Festival at the Edge, Warwick, Moor and Coast, Whitby (but we can't afford the whole week!) and Alcester. However this doesn't mean to say I dislike the others. All festivals are unique and it's worth trying a range of them if you can. I used to go to Cambridge a long time ago but then it got too expensive. Just remember - wherever you go, have fun! |
