I am looking for the lyrics to a song written by Robb Johnson, and sung by, among others, Roy Bailey, called Red and Green. It is the last tune on Bailey's CODA CD.Had a look through the Mudcat Lyrics and didn't find a reference. Perhaps I have the wrong title?

You have the correct title, according to the discography on Roy Bailey's website, but I can't find lyrics even on a Google search. Sometimes searching on part of the lyrics is more helpful than the title. Can you give us some of the words please?

Joan

Red and Green by Robb Johnson

I dreamed the old dream just last night
Red and Green, and going home
I dreamed there were no wars left to fight
Red and Green, and going home
I dreamed of those who know no rest
R&G
The refugee, and the dispossessed
R&G
And submarines plow shared the sands
R&G
And factories turned to fertile lands
R&G
We heal the sick and the insane
R&G
For the poor and the limousine
R&G
All these are old dreams, nothing new
R&G
Of yet to come, nonetheless true
R&G

Robb is one of the most generous men I know for sharing his songs - An E Mail would almost certainly get any lyrics you might want , and a lot of his stuff is available as MP3 on his Website

I found the song on Spotify as "Red & Green." I hear a few lines differently:

RED AND GREEN
(Robb Johnson)

I dreamed the old dream just last night,
    Red and Green, and going home;
I dreamed of no wars left to fight,
    Red and Green, and going home.

I dreamed of those who know no rest,
    Red and Green, and going home;
The refugee, the dispossessed,
    Red and Green, and going home.

And submarines plowshared the sand,
    Red and Green, and going home;
And factories turned to fertile land,
    Red and Green, and going home.

We heal the sick and the insane,
    Red and Green, and going home;
The leper and the limousine,
    Red and Green, and going home.

We saw our likeness in each face,
    Red and Green, and going home;
And with each kindness, gathered grace,
    Red and Green, and going home.

Ah, these are old dreams, nothing new,
    Red and Green, and going home;
Of yet to come, nonetheless true,
    Red and Green, and going home.
    Red and Green, and going home.
    Red and Green, and going home.

Alternate title: RED & GREEN

from the CD collection titled Margaret Thatcher: My Part in her Downfall, by Robb Johnson and the Irregulars

I think I have everything right, but I'm not sure about the "plowshared the sand" and "leper and the limousine."

Joe - They both sound right from the youtube video, though Robb may have written ploughshared! (on the other hand, forward thinking that he is, he may not).

It's "healed the sick and the obscene", not "insane"

On an arrangement I have(Janet Russell) it is ...

[v1 same]
[v2] the refugees
[V3] ploughshared
[V4] healed ... obscene
[v5 same]

[an extra verse]
So broke the walls of greed and fear
Red...
With love to all things suffering here
Red...

[last v] But these are old...
