August 2&3 , 2002 in Windham, NY

Any Mudcatters among the presenters or planning to attend?

I will be presenting w/the 28th Massachusetts, Company K String Band in a workshop titled "Across the Great Divide: Influence of Irish Music During the Civil War". Tentatively scheduled for Friday, August 2 - 2:30PM-3:15PM

Hope you can all attend!

Dave

Hi,

Sounds like fun.

My great-great-grandfather, Francis Roach, was in Company A of the Mass 28th.

Sounds great, but I'm afraid the $40 a would leave us out even if we did live close enough to attend. For my reenactment unit that would mean $640, plus incidentals. T'would seem if the goal is to 'preserve and pass on to the younger generation' they could make it a bit more affordable!

It does sound great, but I wish the website had said more about overnight accommodations for non-reenactors (whether there's a place reserved for camping trailers, links to local motels and B&B's, etc.).... or is this an event solely for the benefit of Civil War reenactors?

Well, it is their First so I am sure they will iron out the details and be more complete next year. Takes a while to shake the bugs out and there was a phone number for more info, eh?!

Hi kat -- Thanks for the blue clicky.

SharonA - I also expressed an interest in accomodations and was pointed to this site by the organizers:

Windham Chanmber of Commerce.

(maybe kat could do the blue clicky for this) It is the website for the Windham Chamber of Commerce and lists not only places to stay, but also restaurants, and other "exciting" things to do in the Windham area.

Dave

no problem, JADave:-)

Thanks kat!

I really should learn how to do the thing myself, but I hardly ever post. (I've been lurking here in one form or another for a long time and have only posted five or six times!!)

Rich and Dee might find these sites interesting:

28th Mass Compamy K

and

28th Mass
