It appears that Mudcatters Mmario, Hogeye, and Hippie Chick will be at our place the night of Friday, August 23 for our new-improved-burgeoning-fun monthly jam. We'll pass the hat for Mudcat, and I will explain what Mudcat is all about to our new jammers.

Y'all come if you've a mind to. (I'll be in and out all weekend, with multiple Gospel Sing gigs that weekend, so plan on looking after yourself.)

What if you can't come but you wish you could? SPONSOR A JAMMER.

Yep. I'm calling it a Jam-a-Thon. Tell me how much you will kick in per quarter-hour of nonstop jamming. We'll go as late as we can, and report here in the thread as we go. What the heck-- it could work! *G* Your sponsored jammer will, no doubt, join Mudcat to thank you, and may even become a good friend.

Click here for DETAILS and maps, if you are coming.

~Susan

Oh,Susan.

How sorely you tempt me!

I'm still trying to figure out to get back to JenEllens to retrieve my recycled chair before I go to Strawberry.

Sold out, by the way.

I may make it a stop-thru on the way. It's definitely better than Prosser.

And then I don't know if I'll have a job after going to Strawberry. You'd think that after 17 years of doing this festival, my employers would realize that this is my priority.

of course,I've had 17 different employers in that time. But. I am making almost twice what I ever made.
Per hour.
.Being laid off 8 of the last 12 months hasn't helped my debts,so everything I can set aside right now is going toward my Strawberry fund. Had to buy a new ten today 9old one collapsed under the snow load last spring9 9Hi,jOHn(.

Anyway, won't be able to make it to PA, next week.

PS, Prosser was really nice. No slam intended.

But you should see Ellensburg Ranch Estates.

I'm still trying to calculate the number of boxes of Lime Jello it is going to take to turn the pond into the "PIT".

I won't even need splash guards when I belly-flop from the 30 metre board.

Sounds lovely, but August 23-25 is also the weekend of the Philadelphia Folk Festival so, if I go anywhere then, it'll be to there. Sorry!

As to the sponsoring of jammers, perhaps you'll get more of a response if you start another thread with the Mudcat-supporting purpose stated in the thread title. Just a thought!

Anyway, y'all have fun, and hopefully I'll be able to join in some other time.

P.S. – Yeah, I know the title of this thread says "Fundraiser" in it, but I was thinking more along the lines of a thread title that makes it clear that one does not need to attend the MudGather in order to raise funds... something with the word "Sponsor" in it.

Yer lucky buggers! I wish I could make it but I'm in Colorado again.

Sharon, for REAL folk music, I'd make it to Susan's place and forget the Philadelphia Folk Festival.

Good point, Bert – the Philly Folk Fest's definition of "folk" is indeed quite loose!

Aw,Cmon guys! There's still plenty of folk music at PFF!

Of course, most of it's in the campground!

Just stop by the Dharmabums camp & you'll hear some.

Ron.

Hey Ron,
Will Dharmabum be strumming away at his new guitar? Has he even dared to take it out of the case yet?
SINS

OOPS - MMario, if I can't make it I will sponsor anyone who sings the "Bird In A Gilded Cage" PM me for details.

It's being broken in quite well Sins.

It won't see Philly though, only old beaters there.
