From: GUEST,mg I always wanted to do a Sunnycamp in October..to complement Rainycamp in February (this is Washington State.) I think we should do it...and since I am on the Long Beach Peninsula..what better place than here...about 4 hours from Seattle, 1.5 from Longview, 2 from Portland, .5 from Astoria. There is a neat old inn with campsites I am checking out. I don't have prices but it should be reasonable. If money is a problem, in October there should be free or cheap camping nearby. This place is right by the beach, has a great porch for singing, a great living room, 4 cabins, an outdoor semi-enclosed picnic room...an outdoor fireplace..many sites for trailers. There are more luxurious inns etc. nearby. There is a grocery store, church, several nice restaurants short walks away. A lady who does hot stone massage also a couple of blocks away..what say ye? This place is very very rich in history...Native American, Lewis and Clark, Finnish area...right where the oean meets the Columbia...there is a little cranberry museum and the Ilwaco museum nearby..Hobe Kytr is the director there and well-known at least in Portland circles as a songwriter... Anything I do these days has to be very very simple...I would say a potluck Friday evening, potluck lunches..breakfast and Saturday dinner on the local economy... costs would be whatever the cost of the rooms/sites were plus a little bit extra... mg It would have to be very very mg |

From: GUEST,mg oh music would be the priority...but it would be a shame to miss all the sites here..the cranberries will be just about harvested..I would have to do this in mid to late October...because I am involved in a camp for abused children..there is a Cranberrian Fair that involves Ilwaco Museum and events at the Cranberry museum right at the peak of harvest...I'll try to make this the week after so that perhaps people can make a week of it...I can't make it the same weekend because either the camp will be that weekend or I'll be involved in the proceedings... so what all went on at Barbara's? I just can't get there from here till I get recarred.. mg |
