See what ya'll can do, eh? Subject: Three blues tunes I can't find From: GUEST,tkane - PM Date: 02-Aug-02 - 11:47 AM I was reminded of a few blues songs and I don't see any of them on the site. Does anyone know songs with these lines? 1) You got the right key but you're workin'on the wrong keyhole. 2) My man is a handyman. 3) You've got your ________ in my bowl. I can't remember what's in the blank. I never heard this one but someone was asking me if I could play it. |

He said, "Get someone else if you can. I'm gone without a doubt." Things got tough and he came back last night at nine o'clock. He turned his key in the old front door but the key wouldn't fit the lock. He pushed it in, and turned it 'round, and 'round, and took it out. And just as he was 'bout to try again, he heard Miss Liza shout: "You got the right key but the wrong keyhole. I couldn't get along with you to save my soul, Yesterday I went down to the hardware store, And put another lock on my front door. "I've got a new man who is better than you. He starts his loving where you get through. So take my tip, honey: Leave my door, Because your key don't fit in my lock no more. I say you got the right key but you're working on the wrong keyhole. |

It is the undiluted real thing, with the trumpet loudly flubbing one note (ker-SPLAT) , the audience laughing and cheering, the tempo slow, heavy, and broad, and the singer shouting and enunciating as one learns to do when, in fact, there are no microphones and the acoustics in the room are not helpful. But of course there IS a microphone and it catches absolutely everything. I loved it. |

There was something about those raunchy songs of the era, wasn't there? |
