(UK) Catters; Charity event From: Willa My friend's two daughters (not yet teenagers, but already good whistle players, and beginning to perform in local folk clubs) are holding a charity event next week. I promised to post their information on Mudcat. I know that many of you will be busy on that night, but it would be great if any 'catters could come along. "Charity Session/ Musicians/ Singers Night Friday August 16th from 7.30pm At Our Lady of Lourdes Church Hall, Swanland Rd. Hessle. £2 donation to play incl. Tea/coffee (Bring a bottle if you wish) Run by Lifestyle team, Ampleforth Antics In aid of the Hull Catholic Handicapped Fellowship This charity funds holidays for mentally and physically disabled people and gives carers respite time too. It's a scheme organised by the Police to encourage teams of young people (with an adult supervisor) to raise money over the summer holidays for a charity of their choice. I've been involved with several teams through school and they do a brilliant job and often raise much needed money for smaller charities - like this one. |

It is well worth noting that these kids are going to be fantastic musicians they are already composing their own tunes some of which are already being played in sessions accross the north.
