BETA Video recorders

Does anyone still run a BETA machine? I have three tapes of Rainbow Quest Shows from the 60's I would put up on the auction. They are all copies from VHS public library tapes and they have among them , Grant Rogers, Sonny and Brownie, Richard and Mimi Farina, The Clancy Bros and Tommy Makem, MIssissippi John Hurt, Doc Watson Fred Price, others as well.

Any Interest?

Don

DANG! a year ago I would have said yes, because I had access to someone who converted beta to vhs - but I no longer have the contact.

I have a barely used one I would be happy to sell you, as my father wants the space it's in.

I hate to bring this up, but aren't those tapes copyright material? Selling, or even auctioning a beta copy of material is not exactly legal. I believe these tapes are still being sold, on VHS.

auctioning the TAPES is not illegal - nor would the transfer onto a compatible media for the purchaser be illegal.

making additional copies would be.

Good point. I'll keep the tapes to surrender as evidence in my impending court action.

I was talking about the machine, not recorded tapes.

I have a top-of-the-line Beta machine...(Sony 900)it is the only one still working (have 2 VHS machines that ate tapes and jammed)...I never could see why VHS won the battle, except for longer recording time...*sigh*....

(I also have a Sony VHS which I *shall* get repaired soon...so, if anyone desparately needs anything converted......)
