15 May 98 - 10:42 AM (#28412) Subject: Sessions in Cork? From: Petra Cosgrove I've got a question for all of you wonderful folks from all over the place out there.. I'm going to be heading to Cork (Eire, Ireland, the spiffy Island right next to England) in Oct (for a year.. well.. 9 months), and am wondering what/if any there is in the way of sessions, musical gatherings etc.. :) Thanks Much! :) petra ps: sorry that is so random - summer vacation (all two weeks of it) ends today and then I get to go out into the field and play in the dirt for a few weeks (archaeological field school) then I get to go home and work all summer, so I'm rather distracted.. pps: yes, I realize that if I'm leaving in Oct, that I'm being rather anxious in asking this now, but I figured, hey, I was thinking about it and I was here - why not! :) :) I'll stop rambling now.. :) |

15 May 98 - 07:00 PM (#28452) Subject: RE: Sessions in Cork? From: McGrath There is a singers session in "The Gables" pub on (I think) the last Sunday of each month. It starts around 9pm to 9:30. I shall get exact details for you in a day or two.
Irish Music Magazine has a session listing for the entire country and the Nenagh Singers Circle (http://www.geocities.com/broadway/alley/4749) web site has listings of many of the singers clubs (open to all comers). You will find a link to "Irish Music Magazine" on our "Links" web page.
