I am really, really beginning to absolutely HATE my job. I didn't use to... but them mergers have destroyed the culture and lost me colleagues and boss and I'm NOT happy. I can think of Take This Job And Shove It, I Ain't Working Here No More... what other Hate My Job songs are there, and why isn't that one in the Trad, does anybody know all the words?

There's a fairly gloomy thing called (I think) something like 'Gonna go to work on Monday one more time", which is largely about a bloke whose been killed off by his job. For a more cheering song, again, not sure of the title, but the chorus goes....

I'm looking for a job with a sky high pay A four day week and a two hour day, Maybe its because I was born that way, But I never did like being idle.

TAKE THIS JOB AND SHOVE IT
Performed by Johnny Paycheck
Written by David Allen Coe

CHORUS

Take this job and shove it
I ain't workin' here no more
My woman done left and took all the reasons
I was workin' for
You better not to try to stand in my way
As I walk out the door
Just take this job and shove it
"Cause I ain't workin' here no more.

I've been workin' in this fact'ry
For nigh on fifteen years
Seen some of my best friends' women
Drownin' in a pool of tears
Seen alot of my kinfolk die
Had a lot of bills to pay
Lord, I'd give the shirt right off of my back
If I had the guts to say...

REPEAT CHORUS

The foreman is a regular low-down dog
The line boss is a fool
Got himself a brand new flattop haircut
Lord, he really thinks that's cool
One of these days, I'm gonna blow my top
And somebody's going to pay
Lord, I can't wait to see their faces
When I get the nerve to say...

REPEAT CHORUS

Johnny Paycheck's recording is HERE (Scroll down to "Paycheck")>

On Mondays I never go to work,
On Tuesdays I stay at home
On Wednesdays I never feel inclined
Work is the last thing on my mind
Thursday's a holiday And Fridays I detest
It's too late to make a start on Saturday
And Sunday is the day of rest.

Well, I don't have anything to complain about any more - I sneakily tricked them into restructuring and eliminating my position! So instead of having to quit for my own sanity, I get paid for the rest of the year and they hire a headhunter for me! Gimme a song about THAT, wouldja? I'm going to try to find some folkies this weekend (see this thread), so anything quick would be appreciated.
