I sweep floors for a local park district to support my music habit. One of the few things you can do with a liberal arts degree in English Lit if you don't want to teach.

Service Representative and Loan Officer at a Credit Union. I don't know if you folks outside of the US have Credit Unions...do you? If not, they're like co-op banks. Owned and operated by the people who have accounts there, instead of the profits going to "investors". I love the one I work for, and I really love the spirit of the movement.

The one thing I NEVER thought I'd ever do...Stay at Home Mom. Before becoming a mother, I was a real estate agent. Before that I owned 2 retail music stores geared toward school music and before that I was a band director.

Owner of a Tour company in (surprise, surprise) Orlando, FL. The different thing is that I do historical tours of Orlando.

We are not, as is assumed around the world, a "company town" that is focused on Disney and only Disney. We do have over 45 million visitors a year which is more than any other place in the world. If you are planning a visit - send me a message and I'll show you the real Orlando.

I am a volunteer fire fighter-- not restricted to day time hours, or to fire-related incidents.. when ever emergencies crop up-- 80% of our calls are medical emergencies. I also staff a fire lookout tower, and also drive the bookmobile for the county library. my favorite part of the Florida countryside near Orlando was the "Bear Crossing" signs. (Any chance of getting a digital image of one?) i visited my in-laws when they lived near Eustis. I wish i had stopped and tried the boiled peanuts from the road side stand. do the aligators eat many poodles around there? how about Pumas--have there been any sightings lately? Cougars? what do you call them, probably not mountain lions, cuz i do not think you have mts.

Unemployed editor, free-lancer, semi-retired, househusband, or full time musician, depending on what day you catch me on. I was laid off from a longtime editorial job 17 months ago, had a good-sized severance and made it last, haven't found anything new except occasional free-lance work, finally became eligible for EI. Hoping my new CD will generate some income once it hits its break-even point. Enough to squeak me through to pensionable age, anyway. Meantime, I'm practising my "Would you like fries with that?", just in case...

Hi, Mud:

I'm retired, but spent 36 years working in a Museum, the last 30 as Director. The Museum's big attraction was an early New England Farm, and we had over 100 acres of land. I ran a folk concert series there for 27 years and came to know many mudcatters through that, and a festival I ran for seven.

When I joined Mudcat, I started a thread like this... more recent than the one with the blue clickie. Being blue clickie challenged, I can't direct you to it, but the thread title was What Do You Do In Real Life? The last posting was probably a couple of months ago...

Jerry

I work evenings. I work at an American university as a Library Technician/Night Supervisor.A LT is as far as you can go without being a Librarian ( Master's degree required). I didn't get my master's, I got bored with the program. Got A grades, but I couldn't stand the lack of challenge of it to stick it out to make something of it.

I like my job and I like playing old time.

Running the museum sounds neat!
