BS: mostest movies

The Jiggles Who Cares thread is turning into a Who cares what the thread is? thread about movies.

Just to get more people directed to it, What's the funniest, saddest, scariest, sexiest movie, and why.

My funniest was Ann Rice's introduction for Interview with a vampire when it came out. No offense to her fans, I just thought it was funny that it had that intro of approval from the writer. "And remember, it's not just about vampires, it's about us." I don't think it's on there anymore, which is a loss.

Scariest--I grew up on horror movies--I pick The Invasion of the bodysnatchers. That thing really affected me when I was a kid, and when I made my wife watch it, I still think it holds up. Best Horror special effect, when my wife was startled watching Poltergeist and dumped her giant movie-theater coke in my lap.

Sexiest--this is always very difficult, and I don't know, movies aren't often very sexy, really. Maybe they're trying too hard. In Mystery Train a girlfriend acts silly to cheer up her boyfriend, who keeps insisting he isn't sad, (just trying to look cool, on a pilgrimage to Graceland) and that was oddly sexy. And her collection of ancient resemblances to Elvis was pretty funny.

Saddest--again, high degree of difficulty. Gummo is sad. Saddest line maybe "he didn't like my marble foot" from Camille Claudel. Black Robe was sad, how hard it really is for people to understand each other. The Last Picture Show, where people pretty much have to forgive each other, there's just no-one else around. The Stone Boy--but I'm the only person who ever saw that one. I can't pick one, but my wife says Raging Bull. (Or Death Of A Salesman, but not necesarily the movie of it.
