Cornelius, who published some song books in TX in the 20's. (specifically Heart Songs-Forth Worth-1926) I remember once finding a biographical note that he used to be a miner, and that he was from Cornwall, Wales. Any more info out there about his Welsch heritage?? or his mining career? Or anythinig about him or his music? The Carter family recorded at least on of his tunes: Give Me the Roses While I Live... Thanks! hurry-the race is on-Masato may find the answer first!! |

Charles Wolfe says (in his notes to the Carter song) Cornelius was a "shape-note gospel writer." Unfortunately, all I know is that he also wrote "Oh, I Want To See Him" in 1915 (Click HERE, and HERE). ~Masato |
