From: Dave the Gnome Bored witless while waiting for something to go wrong so I could fix it the other day the only thing I could find to read was an HP printer manual. Sad or what? Anyhow. It did provide me with hours of fun because the page it fell open at was titled "Accordian jam in the fuser". I imagined all sorts of things and was even more amazed to find that you had to take the pronter apart to solve the problem! This seems to be a regular occurence in Laserjet 5 and 6 printers as it has a whole section to itself. I wonder why it is just an accordian jam? Why do they not allow strings or flutes to jam along with them? Would they let me join in with my concertina? Makes you wonder doesn't it...;-) By the way - Things never did go wrong. What a waste of 12 hours. Apart from the accordians of course. Cheers Dave the Gnome |

Gist is that the poor creature was made into jam, but that wasn't successful, so the jam was tipped on garden. Next year there was a lovely crop of daffodils on the spot. 'Funny' said a friend, 'We usually get tulips from hamster jam...' |

Jam it, probably. :) Actually I don't mind a well-played accordion- but I have had the experience several times of having one played into my ear when I was seated with a guitar and the accordion player was standing behind me. Now, that's an experience. Sometimes I wish I had a more threatening appearance... |

28 Aug 02 - 02:42 AM (#772758) Subject: RE: BS: What would you do with an accordian jam? From: Liz the Squeak Well if the accordion is jammed I have a lovely Swiss Army Melodeon Repair kit here.... knife to fix the bellows, screwdriver if that fails, and if that doesn't work, a toothpick to poke the operator in the eye! If it's accordion jam - it can't be as nice as Mudguards' 'moosberry' jam he bought me last year (and is wonderful on cranberry bread) and is nearly finished..... If it's the paper sort, well, you've got the beginnings of a DIY paper lantern factory and I'd investigate the effect with other types of decorative paper.... LTS |

From: michaelr Just this past weekend, the **th Annual (not sure how long they've been doing this) Cotati Accordion Festival took place in my neck of NorCal. Lots of fun or a bloody nightmare, depending on how you feel about the box, but there were more than a dozen performers/groups on the stage, and (yes, Boromir) it culminated, as it does every year, in a giant Lady-of-Spainathon. Woo-hoo! Cheers, Michael |
