There will be an autoharp and dulcimer retreat, featuring Bryan Bowers teaching autoharp, November 8 & 9 at the Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in White Springs, Florida (north Florida).

There will be workshops and evening concerts.

For further information contact Jon Kay at jon.kay@dep.state.fl.us

the weekend is 30$ and the park is beautiful with full hookups. Primitive camping is $10 a night. It's right off I75 near where I10 crosses it and November is a great time to visit the theme parks in Orlando. We are also trying to get Hammered dulcimer players to come and gather as well. It will be a great weekend and I hope to see some out of state Mudcatters there!Pm me if you want further details! hg

Why couldn't you have it in the winter when I'm in Live Oak?

My understanding is that Walt Michaels is coming south to do the hammered dulcimer segment. I am looking forward to it and will certainly be there.

Bryan did a workshop and concert for us here in Chattanooga, Tennessee last Fall. It was a treat!! We've got Neal and Coleen Waters coming next month. Last Spring Les Gustafson-Zook was here for our festival. Those guys can play those autoharps!!!

Does sound ELITIST to me!! Right Abby? ;-) **BIG GRIN**

We will be seeing (and hearing) Brian this Labor Day weekend at the Fox Valley Folk Festival in Geneva, Illinois. It will be wonderful to hang out with old friends I've not seen in several years. Wish you all could be there too.

Definitely elitist! In fact, you can't play at my camp unless you have a voice or an instrument!

And Kendall, I'm not organizing it, our new Parks guy Jon Kay, who did such a good job on this year's 50th Folk Festival, is. Talk to him about doing a concert there when you come this winter. I'm sure he would organize it!
