Hello all, I went to Bridgnorth this year and if anyone else was there they must have seen Emily Slade! She was amazing I just had to buy her cd which is wonderful! She did a solo set which was so cool, just her and a guitar doing a mix of her spin on traditional tunes and new stuff, a little reminiscent of Kate Rusby in that way! She also appeared in the Phil Beer Band and Pete Morton Band! She is fab abd definatly one to look out for! Has anyone else seen her? What do you think? Love Bxxx

i booked her for Saddleworth last year, one of the first festivals she appeared at, and we thought she was excellent. She was on in the same concert as Chris While and Julie Matthews which was nice for all of them, as they've known her since she was a baby. Apparently her parents run a well-known folk club in the South. Ali

Yes - I MC'd main stage at Bridgnorth the night she did her solo set and the Phil Beer Band set; also in the audience for one of the Pete Morton Band sets. Amazing talent. She'd only heard the Pete Morton stuff on the Tuesday and gigged it on the Saturday. I couldn't do that, and don't suspect many could. And it seemed polished and the arrangements were good, too.

Yes, having parents that have run one of the longest established and best supported clubs in the UK (Hitchin, 30+ years, all under Maureen's management, must have helped with contacts, but she has worked very hard over the past few years, playing anywhere and everywhere, building her skills and fan base. She deserves whatever success comes her way.

Couldn't agree more! Emily is a great talent and a hard worker. I have had her on a couple of my fundraiser PTA's in the Stafford area and she has gone down VERY well!Good to see new talent allied to good attitude. She'll go far.

Hitchen is a concert club that runs every Sunday from Sept to June with a break for the summer festival season. Emily used to play Hitchen quite frequently, mostly supporting other acts and has always been well worth listening to. She still plays there occasionally but now she has committments elsewhere unfortunately it's not as often as it used to be. Having been a member of Hitchen folk club for a number of years, I'm on their email events mailing list - at the bottom of which is this contact address: goodmusic@hitchinfolkclub.freeserve.co.uk They should be able to give details of places she's booked for people wanting to see her
