I was waiting to see if Art would post some info about his visit to the Fox Valley Folk Festival in Geneva, Illinois, over the Labor Day weekend. He hasn't, so I'll prompt him to tell you all the details. It was great to see him out and about. He is looking well and seemed to be having a ball meeting and talking to friends old and new.

It was indeed a treat to see Art and Carol at the festival this past weekend. I thought the line up was particularly strong this year. But I'll wait to see what Art has to say.

I tried to convince him to ride along with me to FSGW, but he can't do it. I am anxious to hear how Fox Valley went.

Fox Valley was what it always is and has been over the last 25 years; a thoroughly lovely festival. Juel Ulven and Terri Byerly----Geo. Dirksen and Bob Poore---all of 'em; there's not enough room in all of cyber-folking-space to give proper credit where it is due. Phil and Margaret and Kate Early. Carol and I not being able to drive these days can be a real drag but the F.Valley people picked us up and got us home the next day so mandatory medical needs could be attended to. Alex and Sine McDougal (above post) are mainstays of the Lake County, Illinois Folk Club. Alex, I do wish we'd've been able to talk at length more. Same goes for Ed Trickett. A more tasteful folksinger does not exist anywhere on this planet.--------------And some of you Mudcatters know what sad ordeals Carol has gone through over the last 20 years, so I'm sure you can realize how great it is for me to have her able to come along and be in such decent shape after her ongoing last resort treatments recently. And on top of all that, the Courtyard Marriott in St. Charles, IL donated our lodgings.

Yep, Alex, it was just great. Thanks to all who made it possible.

AND Dennis and Judy Cook sprang some especially good news on me----news of a pending project that has me just about speechless (for once), so I guess 'nuf said for now.

Sounds wonderful, Art: I'm so happy that you were able to do it! Judy and Dennis are wonderful people. Whatever they have up their collective sleeves is bound to be good... And, it's great that Carol is doing so well! Only goes to show.... (you figure out the rest...) :-)

If it's an Art Thieme retrospective concert or some such, I want to be involved! I'll sell tickets if nothing else!

Damn...........if Harpgirl is right and that is what they are going to do, I want in. I would love to sing a song of Art's in tribute to him. I hope your intuition is correct, m'dear.

I'd like nothing more than, as Harp said, to be involved with her. But the older I get, the better I was. Such is la vida.
