11 Sep 02 - 12:34 PM (#781344) Subject: Tune Name Required, ABC inside. From: MudGuard Hello, for some days now, this tune is whirling round my head, but I can't name it, so I can't find the rest of it (if anyone has the complete tune beside the name, I'd be grateful!). Here is the abc for the tune start: T:Unknown M:1/4 L:1/4 C:unknown S:whirling round my head... K:G |:z2D|G>AG|F>ED|d2z|efg|d>cB:|[1A>Bc|B2z]|[2A>GF|G2z]| btw, is this the correct way to write down a repeat with two different endings? If not, how should I do it? I am asking because Harmony doesn't display it as I would expect, but ABC2WIN does... Thanks in advance, MudGuard |

11 Sep 02 - 04:53 PM (#781501) Subject: RE: Tune Name Required, ABC inside. From: GUEST The Gentle Maiden was recorded by John McCormack. The notes on Songs and Ballads (COHL 124) say "Old Irish Iar arranged by Aruthur Somerville; English Words by Harold Boulton". Whilst I agree "The Gentle Maiden" is sung to that tune, I am not convinced it is the name of the tune. |
