Subject: Looking for a large lyrics site
From: fogie

I'm playing from the Warner's Real book of jazz, and standards, and various other buskers books which don't always give complete lyrics. I'm looking for a site for jazz and standards to check the full words. One of the best sites I've found is via the Lyrics and Midi site -Rabid Squirrel, but even that doesn't have Out of town in it. I'd be grateful if someone could give me some other good sites, and hopefully the lyrics to the abovementioned song- the one that goes....... The sun is a big yellow duster polishing the blue blue sky ,and white fluffy clouds in a cluster, hanging on the breeze to dry, Say what you will the countryside is still the only place that I could settle down etc. I'd really like to be able to do some of these at our local club, but finding others with a similar mind is difficult, and you can't sing, play guitar, and sax by yourself can you? And those fabulous chords! how on earth do you remember them all?

OUT OF TOWN
From the film "Charley Moon" (1956)
(Leslie Bricusse / Robin Beaumont)
Sung by Max Bygraves - 1956

Say what you will
The countryside is still
The only place that I could settle down
Troubles there are so much rarer
Out of town

Spring starts to spring
Robins start to sing
And Mother Nature wears her newest gown
What I'd give once more to live right
Out of town

Up there the sun
Is a big yellow duster
Polishing a clear, blue sky
With bright fluffy clouds in a cluster
Hanging on the line to dry

Spring starts to spring
Robins start to sing
And Mother Nature wears her newest gown
What I'd give once more to live right
Out of town

Here at the Mudcat, if you look up at the top of the screen, you will see one that says
