'One Hundred Years Ago', presumed title, artist unknown, presumably from the early 60's during the Civil War centennials, line in it is akin to 'one hundred years ago, a hundred years ago, the ditches and the streams were all filled with Rebel blood.' From: Jim Dixon The Limeliters recorded a song called "A Hundred Years Ago" (or "A Hundred Years", according to some sources) originally as a single, RCA Victor 47-7913, in 1961. It is now available on "The Complete RCA Singles Collection", Taragon CD 1071, 2000. Authorship is credited to someone named "Oakes" but I haven't been able to identify this person. I transcribed this much from a sound sample at CDNOW: ...cousin killing cousin, so the story's told. Before the end, we were to lose five hundred thousand fold.
