Subject: Another cat song
From: pavane
Just found another cat song in the Bodleian ballad library, but I don't think I should post it here, as the poor cats are shot at!
Title: Parody on The Slave Ship Printed by Such between 1863 and 1885 Bodley reference Harding B 11(2947)
Final verse is
Oh Daddies of England where'er you may be No matter the quarter we all must agree There's nothing to equal that horrible stave Produced by cats when at midnight they rave What a horrible bore to pay taxes and rent For a house that by cats you are nearly mad sent Each who kill but a cat I'll stand him a treat If he calls at my Villa in Cat-eaton Street
