Cheers, I'm looking for Corries songs' guitar chords, expecially for 'Sound the Pibroch' and 'Black Douglas', but chords for any of their numbers will be highly appreciated. Cheers and thanks in advance

Hi Mauro, You'll find all the chords, lyrics etct. in two Corries books. If you look on their web page you'll find all the info you need. If you can't get what you need there, I'll get back to you.

Mauro
If you copy this into your address box it should take you to a thread with various links to Corries songs.

As Skatha says come back if you can't find what you are looking for. I have a song book somewhere and will dig it out.

Thanks to you John and Skatha. Unfortunately I still can't find the two songs I'm looking for (I found some on the previous thread you suggested John). Anyway thank you very much for answering me! Cheers

Can anyone help with the lyrics for 'the Barge o' Gorrie Crovan' from 'Peat Fire Flame' ?

Mike, sorry I can't help - never heard of that song. Have you searched the Digital Tradition? Thread list, top left hand corner: Lyrics & Knowledge search. If the spelling's in doubt - like o' or of - just put Gorrie Crovan for instance.
If there is no info to be had that way you'll have a greater chance of success with new info if you start a new thread with what you're looking for in the title. See 'Create a new thread' underneath the Search box.
You could also try the Corries website. Gavin Browne is very helpful. Good luck!

I can't help with the chords, but the lyrics of SHERRIFMUIR are the DT under the title THE BATTLE OF SHERRA-MOOR and have been posted in a thread under the title THE SHERRAMUIR FIGHT. Either way, it's a poem by Robert Burns, which, according to one editor, is a "clever paraphrase of the original ballad, written by the Rev. John Barclay … (born 1734, died 1798)"

This is for guest Mike Fiddes from 2003 (above), looking for the lyrics to "Barge of Gorry Crovan". I hope you've found this -- it's not from the Corries' version but it's a singable translation of the Gaelic on the video (scroll down below the Gaelic lyrics), and some of the verses seem to be the same as the Corries':

Also, after listening to a video of the Corries singing it, I think you may be able to pick up the rest of their verses:

Great song!
