To manitas and his compadres ...

Great session last night. Small, informal, unpretentious, welcoming, pleasant company, decent Guinness!

I'll definitely be back - maybe even on a fairly regular basis if I hear no groans!

Go raibh mile maith agaibh for a good oul' night's crack!

It was a pleasure.

Although as luck would have it, the next two Thoysdy nights aren't goin' to be as easy as I'd like ...

Will do my best to keep up th'oul momentum, though!

Which Stratford? Stony or on Avon? or other
tick one of the above.

Neither - London.... East London, E15; Central or Jubilee underground lines, mainline rail, multitudinous buses, on the A12, just after Bow flyover (last resting place of at least one of the East Ends' less salubrious sons), home of the Theatre Royal, Bow Porcelain, Three Mills heritage centre and an award winning public toilet - oh, sorry, bus station.

Allegedly going to be on the Chunnel line but no sign of it yet... so we can't quite claim Stratford International!

Regularly has a seaside festival, by dumping a whole load of sand in the middle of the shopping centre and selling candy floss.

Has the East London University campus in most of it, and is regularly full of confused looking Americans.

Ever thought of giving details to your local folk magazine?

I think they know where Stratford is....

It's the landlords' decision. If he wants to advertise his session, then he can. It is actually publicised in some locally available newspaper, just not necessarily the ones everyone reads!

I think most of the people who attend the session wouldn't think of themselves at being in Essex although we are east of the Lea. Nor would most of them consider themselve's folkies.

I think the main reason we don't advertise is that we are not an organisation, there is no one to lead the session and no-one to publicise it. The arrangement with the landlord and landlady is adhoc and the session is impromptu. We don't even have a poster in the window (the pub has a licence for live music but doesn't use it otherwise). We don't feel obliged to play if we don't have enough musicians for a strong melody line. I think if we advertised then we would feel obliged to play all the time. It's as much of a social gathering as a music session.
