26 Sep 02 - 09:41 AM (#791699) Subject: Seven Drunken Nights From: GUEST,David Does anyone know of a variant on Seven drunken nights/Old Wichet in which a wife, instead of cuckolding her husband, is hiding someone who is a Jacobite on the run? The various things involved are similar; horse, boots etc., but the husband is a Whig and the consequences of discovery could be fatal. I thought that I had the ballad on computer but it must have vanished into some electronic limbo, and, since I don't remember the name, it makes a search pretty futile. Thanks in advance, D. McL. |
