27 Sep 02 - 02:06 PM (#792521) Subject: New Music Session - Berkshire England UK From: fiddler A pal is trying to get a session up and running at the Lands End Pub in the Woodley Twyford Area of Reading Berks. If this takes off it will be a once a month event to start with. There is not that much music down here so if anyone is around turn up and lets make it work. Monday 7th October is the first one. For further info email me Andy@mnemonic.uk.com |

28 Sep 02 - 06:50 PM (#793185) Subject: RE: New Music Session - Berkshire England UK From: fiddler I'd say at this point depends who turns up. The guy trying to get it together fiddles for a clog team and knows a bit else so fairly UK folk. I do a bit of American / old time type ish and some Uk stuff! Woodley still has it's Town Council though and Twyford is still out in teh sticks (just) Where are you will we see you there. - I can't be there till later as I'm playing for Appalachian earlier. A |

30 Sep 02 - 03:51 PM (#794203) Subject: RE: New Music Session - Berkshire England UK From: cyder_drinker I'm in the West Country, and play mainly Irish - but can manage a bit of old-timey/bluegrass on the fiddle. May manage to turn up - all depends on where my last job of the day is (working on callouts all over southern England). Lived an early part of my life in Woodley. Cheers for now, hope to make it there. |

01 Oct 02 - 06:56 PM (#795091) Subject: RE: New Music Session - Berkshire England UK From: fiddler Not really sure. The guy organising is a fiddler. I'm speaking to another pal of mine tonite (or tomorrow) his other half (the better half) is a singer so..... I'm merely trying to spread the word. This end of Berkshire is a bit dead and it would be good to see a sessioin spring up and survive. There used to be some good sessions in and around reading. There are now some within about 40mins to 1 hour away and I can be in London or Bristol (well ok 1-15 to Bristol) in that time. A |

03 Oct 02 - 05:52 PM (#796403) Subject: RE: New Music Session - Berkshire England UK From: fiddler I think around 2030 ish Admiral. The sun will be well over the yardarm by then. I'll be putting a map up for any one who isn't familiar with the location this weekend. I'm not running the show but it would be brilliant to get a good session off the ground in this area, so bring friends. As long as there is a hard core of musicians then spectators add to it and hopefully enjoy it too! See you there Sir A |
