ANOTHER PLACE TO LOOK FOR LYRICS IS:

COWPIE/HUSKY

WINGS OF A DOVE
Recorded by: Ferlin Husky
Written by: Bob Ferguson

CHORUS
On the wings of a snow white dove
He sent His pure sweet love
A sign from above
On the wings of a dove

When trouble surrounds us; and evil comes
The body grows weak; the spirit grows numb
When these things beset us; He doesn't forget us
He sends down His love; on the wings of a dove

CHORUS

When Noah had drifted; on the flood many days
He searched for land; in various ways
Troubles he had some; but wasn't forgotten
God sent him His love; on the wings of a dove

CHORUS

A third verse to this song is:

When Jesus went down To the river that day
He was baptized In the usual way
And when it was done, God blessed his son
He sent him his love
On the wings of dove

Check out this site. It has all the words and a midi: http://www.smickandsmodoo.com/easter/dove.htm

Thanks for your input, gatyam gal. The verse you mention is the 1st one I knew & my favorite. I have also added a verse of my own:

Counselor, Comforter, Teacher, and Friend,
Our seal of salvation, guarantee till life's end,
Gift of the Father--Holy Spirit of God--
Sent to each who believes, on the wings of a dove.

regards,

I like your additional verse, bbc. I had not prepared a song to sing at church one Sunday several years ago then a thunderstorm came at 5:30 a.m. that morning and woke me up. I turned on the radio and this song was playing. I sang it that day before the sermon, and the minister's sermon was on the same topic. It was quite a coincidence!
