Giok: Don't be discouraged. I've known of several people who have attained the age of sixty, who live normal, productive lifes. Moreover, some of my friends are of that persuasion. I've even had them over to my home socially. With the proper support, they are like normal people. Hope you feel looooottts better!!

Like Wilco, some of my best friends are over 60.  Some of them still drive cars, chase women (or men, as the case may be), can still feed themelves, and can stand without their walkers long enough to play a couple of guitar or banjo songs.  Seems like there is life for sexagenarians, after all!*

Ayuh, 'Mudge hit 60 last week. Walloped the hell out of it, too. Judging from my friends' experiences (one 64 year old just got back from 2 years in El Salvador with the Peace Corps), seems like a pretty good age, too. (I'm still a baby of 53 -- somehow, I missed 50; it just flew past me.)

Anywho, hope you have a grand day! My philosophy is to celebrate at least all month. See if you can hear a toast coming at you from this neck of the woods!

(Oh, and I really WILL get the envelope that's sitting on my table addressed to you and all rubberstamped and actually in the mail to you SOON! I promise!!!)

Thank you all for the good wishes and the smiles raised this end. Yep Kat my Lizzie bought me a 6th birthday card, so she's obviously a numerologist. It also means that I can re-read "Now we are Six", by A A Milne, one of my favourite books.

When I was one I was just begun,
