this is the kind of subject that you usually see when someone is referring to notables in our land...but i recently used the Message by Date quick link, and i was amazed at the names of mudcatters that i use to see here then(we are talking august 2000)but do not see here now!of course,i'm not here as much as i use to be either, but a lot of names i read there brought back some great memories...Sandy Paton,Doug R,Mbo,rangeroger,PoohBear,Melani,Uncle jaque, abby sale,Aine(with the funny mark over her name)sinsull, carol c,pinetop slim, little hawk, mooh, whistle stop, crowhugger, morticia, sandytoes(then a guest, but later a member...and we know who she really is,now!)sean m, kim c,mary in kentucky, keltegrasshoppper, sailor dan,dave...the ancient mariner, tig, banjo johnny, liz the squeak, geoff the duck, lepus rex, bradypus, irish sargent, death by whiskey, bot, peter t.,fionn, harpgirl, bev and jerry,ed pellow....just to name a few!!!
anyway,as i said,it brought back lots of fun memories....

Haven't heard from Charcloth in ages. He sent me an e-mail a while ago saying that he would be off line for a couple of weeks. I have sent him a couple in he last month or so with no reply. Has anybody heard from him?

Well, Tar Heel, I'll tell ya' this much. DougR is alive and well and usually stuck in one cheek or the other of my poor ol' Wes Ginny butt.

Sorry to have missed some of them folks but I'm a slow digger and it took a while to tunnel into this fine joint.

çine is alive and still active at Mudcat, though not as active here as she was before she wrecked her back last January doing her Sisyphus imiation while "landscaping" at The Moon On The Hill. Check out her Song Challenge!s and threads about The Mudcat Songbook if you doubt that she's still among us.

But I have noticed that the forum gets really quiet (slow) after about 11:00PM PDT (US West Coast), until about 9:00AM EDT, recently. Does that mean we've lost touch with a lot of folks on the other side of the pond?

Most are more interested in music than gossip and B.S. When feasting on blues and folk traditions there are now better places to dine.

Well, cc, I can't speak for other folks, but I don't spend a lot of time on non-music related threads, and I've still noticed a drop-off in posts from folks who used to be regulars. (I don't even open about 60% of the non-music threads I see in the forum, and sometimes I open threads jsut to see what they're about and move on.)

[I hope you don't count announcements about festivals, gatherings, etc., as "gossip," BTW.) *G*

Some of us still lurk. But there is not much music related posts and way too much BS. CC, where are the sites you mention that the Mudcat should be but isn't?

The reports of our death are greatly exaggerated.

But, we miss the postings by Barbara (blessings) and Mudjack. However. we suspect they're still lurking out there.

No Genie - it means WE HAVE A LIFE!!!

And if you really want to know who hasn't posted recently, just click on each persons' name and look to see what and where they have posted... you'll be surprised at just how much drivel we've posted here.... and possibly shocked as well at the choice of threads we've posted to!

I kind of like being missed though... makes me feel all warm and fuzzy and loved. Some days you really need that reassurance. I'm going to to work all happy and glowy now.... my colleagues would thank you if you knew about you... because I've been like a bear with a sore arse for months now!

(Can't believe I've posted the word 'arse' twice in one day.... now in one post! Wake up guys, the Squeak is back!!!)
