Dawson", as it was written by John "Marmaduke" Dawson, longtime friend of Jerry Garcia, Robert Hunter and David Nelson, all of whom hung out together before there was a Grateful Dead. The New Riders of the Purple Sage came out with a really good record called "Moonlight Midnight" released in 1992. This is more acoustic, the songs are really good and so is Dawson's singing. He died last year on 21 July 2009 in Mexico where he had moved in the mid 1990s. |
