15 Oct 02 - 12:46 AM (#803284) Subject: Welcoming Malveka to Mudcat! From: Jande Boy, it sure took you long enough... ::smiles:: Welcome! Malveka is a blues singer/songwriter who plays guitar (but as I'm sure he'll tell us, not as well as he'd like --but who does?!) He has already been asked to have his rybalde drynkyng songe "May Your Sword Never Grow Rusty!" in Aaine's (sp?) Songbook. He is a sweet gentle soul. He has a fabulous smokey voice, perfect for blues (though he has never smoked). He can read Tablature for guitar and sheet music. He has a quirky sense of humour and generally likes people. And dogs! He's wonderful with dogs. Well, I could go on singing his virtues until my voice cracked but I'd rather keep it intact, so... I'm sure the rest of you Mudcatters will love him, and his music, (almost) as much as I do! Please give new member Malveka a warm welcome... ~ Jande |

15 Oct 02 - 02:17 PM (#803735) Subject: RE: Welcome to Mudcat, Malveka! From: Malveka Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome! In some ways I am new to this whole folk music scene, in the sense that I have listened and watched from afar for many years, but somehow could never seem to actually get involved. Jande has been helping me get through that barrier (with some *small* resistance from me along the way ;^), and I'm really looking forward to sharing music, philosophy and fun with the incredibly eclectic and interesting people whom I have thus far glimpsed in my Mudcat meanderings. From what I've seen, it promises to be one heckuva ride! Well met... ~ Malveka |

It's lovely rural countryside of rolling hills, forests and streams. I've lived here for almost 20 years and I still marvel at the beauty of the land in each of its seasons. |
