In keeping with previous threads, I am pleased to announce to the world that Punch the Horse will NOT be appearing at the Windmill Inn, Thorne this coming Saturday.

I am sad to anounce that the deanMeister didn't turn up at the Schloup when he hinted to Nik Nak that he would! But am happy to say that the acorn did, (even if he did mortally insult me) all happy and preaning his sel on his new job, what this may mean for slap the canary is yet to be revealed................

That would definitely conflict with "Screw the Pooch" NOT appearing there either.

With such busy tour schedules these coincidences are bound to pop up and , Yep ,we got another. ;-)

Pray tell, when are P the H not playing in Huddersfield?

Coincidentally, Cara isn't performing at the Hope and Anchor this Thursday night, as the violin player is having a particularly tricky shampoo and set performed by a large underwater parrot in a green string vest.

I wondered why Nik Nak was offering me a lift, Smallpliers!! We had crossed wires. I was having a conversation about this Sunday night's session at the Oddfellows Arms! No wonder she sounded alarmed when I said that I was gonna walk there.....!! Beverley to Barton at night, in the rain, on foot, is not something I am likely to attempt anytime soon! As it happens, I had been contemplating coming to the Sloop, but bear intake got the better of me. Another time?

There is a musicians session, hosted by my good self, at the aforementioned Oddfellows Arms, Eastgate, Beverley, this coming sunday from 6pm onwards. Tunemeisters are cordially invited to pollute the East Yorkshire air with the worst of bad music. RSVP.

Dont put orange peel down youre toilet, i did and it blocked it up, and i had to poke it down with a big stick from the garden and it was raining, this is what happened= I am off werk with flue, so i have been eeting plenty of oranges, 9to get vitamins) and i pealed them and, put the peel on my dinner plate, because i usualy put leftovers down the bog, i put the orange peel there but, it blocked it up, i felt so ill with flew, that i dident even go to the pub on my day off, 9I got sume cans in insted) i will get some apples now, you dont get any problums with them, and you can eat thier skin.

Most people (in this area ie humberside) under the age of 25 and over the age of 5 were Humbersiders not Yorkshireireireireires, so I guess in twenty years time there will be a campaign to bring back Humberside! Hurah!

smallpliers-this area is not humberside, there is no such place, we live in East Yorkshire.

This is true BUT when I came here there was no such place as East Yorkshire, it was Humberside and the point I'm making is that some people who were born here never knew it as east yorkshire and may choose to mount a campaign. But if we want to get really technical and historical this is Northumbria.

I think if yoo put orange peal in the dustbin it, will make it smell nice anyway, but it might go mouldy, so im not really sure about this.
This is a big puzzle-How long does it take for aorange peel to smell bad, you can get orange flavoured air freshuner , so i domt know about this at all.john
very confusing.

Well "Screw the Pooch" just cancelled their appearance in a similar orafice at "the Yeti" because they've yet to find one.
However there's still speculation of "Screw the Pooch" not appearing at "the Ol' Sasquatch Inn " either

Just don't ask me how far it is.

How far what is?

How far is the Ol'........nope, not gonna go there. ;-)

Let me get this straight: you're actually challenging me to just pontificate in extremis. Gawd, take about giving sa child a book of matches and some petrol ;-)
Then again I suppose I should thank you for suggesting that I'm
frugal with the dispensation of me own thoughts. Others here I'm sure would have more than a few words to add to the contrary. ;-)

Anyway, I treat these threads like dialogues and it's just good manners to quote the passage one wishes to draw out as a thread from if just so it can be followed 'intelligibly" by those whom care to.
Besides it helps make sense of what would otherwise appear as rampant non-sequiturs without these direct references.

Ofcourse if you're goading me to do my best Hyde Park evangel .... Naaaah, you're not really suggesting that......are ye now ?

Smallpiper, when I went over a long time ago, I learned the ha'penny-guinea system, and have always remembered it. The new system would probably confuse me. I came out of Scotland with a pound note with some funny looking kind of cow on it (it needed shearing), and couldn't cash it on our last shopping foray in London. Forgot about it and came home with it. Would it still be worth something in Scotland or did they call in all the funny money?

Hey its probably still legal tender - if not its probably worth a hell of a lot more than its face value hang on to it for another ten years and you'll be quids in!
