I promised to post them on the Mudcat. I tried posting this Monday, but the "Submit Message" button did not work. I learned this from Mike Agranoff, a fine singer, songwriter, story teller and guitarist from New Jersey. Mc Donald's Kitchen by Carol MacNelly with additional "folk-process" from Mike Agranoff and Roger Himler Have you seen the old man behind the fast food counter, Stacking one more Big Mac box 'long side the other ones? In his eyes you see no pride, 'cause he knows what they put inside; Yesterday's burgers on yesterday's buns. CHO: How can you tell me your hungry, And say a meal you'd like to find? Let me take you by the hand, I'll lead you through Mc Donald's kitchen. I'll show you something that'll make you change your mind. Have you seen the old gal inside the closed down Wendy's, Scraping all the pieces off the tables and the floor? In an effort to disguise them, She takes them back and fries them. But you still recognize them when they come 'round once more. CHO: Have you seen the businessman outside the Colonel Sanders, Appetite slowly fading as he stops and peers inside. In this winter city, The rain cries have pity, On one more forgotten kitty who's now Kentucky Fried. CHO: Roger in Baltimore Hope you aren't eating lunch. |

The image Ronald MacDonald the clown with his big shoes and red hair sprang to mind and I started giggling. (I usually substitute something like "I am the young lord MacDonald" I then led the audience in the parody we used to sing to the MacDonald's jingle: MacDonald's is your kind of place Hamburgers in your face Cheeseburgers up your nose French fries between your toes And don't forget those great thick shakes Come from polluted lakes MacDonald's is your kind of place" Yeah, it's pretty dumb ! |
