23 Oct 02 - 07:03 PM (#809639) Subject: RE: Bush and Moose talk to Sniper From: Bobert Well, all I gotta say is that while Junior may say he wants the sbniper to stop killing folks, this entire thing is not only workinf to the advantage of Bush but the Repubs in general. With a lot of tight races to be deicded in two weeks, the Dems have not been able to get their stronger cards on the table. The Repubs have an edge in the polls as being a party that deals with miliatry and law inforcment issues. So if the sniper is still at large in two weeks, the Repubs will win back the Senate 50 to 50 with Cheney the tie breaker. But there goes all the Committee chairmanship with the 50/50 split. Hey, I hate sayin' this stuff except I think its gonna play out like this. Bobert |

Bush was bad enough but put him with Moose.... it's like a bad 1950's cartoon show that never quite made it..... LTS |

23 Oct 02 - 08:10 PM (#809714) Subject: RE: Bush and Moose talk to Sniper From: GUEST Dunno, Bobert--the Republicans have tended to favor the gun-toters--Also, tough-talking Bush seems particularly ineffectual in the face of this sort of thing--he can't even manage his "one comment fits all" remarks about not failing or faltering-- Truth be told, he has caved in on his war against Iraq and his whole war on terrorism is beginning to cave in--If you can't find one jerk with a rifle, all that law and order, tough military talk begins to sound kind of empty-- Keep your heads down! |

23 Oct 02 - 08:29 PM (#809723) Subject: RE: Bush and Moose talk to Sniper From: Bobert Man, there's a part of me, GUEST, that agrees with you except when I consider all the *passes* this guy has gotten in life, I just can't see him not getting another one. The media is flat out in love with the guy and his cartoon character cabinet and they can sway an election big time. If it weren't for them on 2000, Junior would have rivaled Barry Goldwater as the century's biggest looser. But they hung with him, like big time. And in the next two weeks, they won't let the Dems within a mile of a microphone... And you can take that to *their* bank. Bobert |

23 Oct 02 - 11:42 PM (#809823) Subject: RE: Bush and Moose talk to Sniper From: Mark Cohen Doug, let me get this straight. You hope that this sniper goes on killing people, so that the Republicans will win back control of the Senate. Is that what you're saying? Because that's what it sounds like you're saying. Aloha, Mark |

24 Oct 02 - 12:20 AM (#809852) Subject: RE: Bush and Moose talk to Sniper From: DougR I certainly hope you know better than that, Mark, though I don't see a grin or smiley face. I was referring to Bobert's statement that the Republicans were going to win back the majority in the senate. DougR |

Maybe he's the sniper. (I'd put a smiley here, but real men don't do smileys.) |
